The moment when the victorious Boat Race crews cover themselves (and the crowds) in a shower of celebratory fizz has become an iconic scene. In 2017, England’s leading wine producer Chapel Down replaced Bollinger as The Boat Race’s ‘Official Celebration Partner’ and it is their sparkling wine that is now enjoyed by the victorious crews at the Mortlake finish line. Based in the picturesque market town of Tenterden in Kent, Chapel Down source fruit from across the South East of England and produce a world-class range of traditional method sparkling wines, crisp, aromatic white wines, delicate rosés and elegant light reds. As well as providing the fizz for the all-important podium moment, at this year’s Boat Race Chapel Down will also have their very own bar at the Bishop’s Park fan park on the river in Fulham, so you can enjoy the same delicious taste of victory as the winning crews.
Chapel Down wines are available in most major retailers, as well as bars and restaurants across London and beyond chapeldown.com
