At the Langdon Down Centre in Teddington, 18 local potters are exhibiting a wide range of ceramic work for both functional and decorative use, available to admire or buy. The show supports both the historic Normansfield Theatre and the work of the Downs Syndrome Association.

3. Fashion Fix

The ever-popular Barnes Charity Fashion Show returns for an evening of philanthropy, community and of course, fashion. This glamorous catwalk show at St.Mary's Church Barnes is a sparkling showcase of local brands and businesses that support several local charities each year.
4. Fun of the Fall

To celebrate Apple Day and all things Autumn, Barnes Common is hosting its annual Autumn Fayre on October 19. Bring your apples for juicing, explore the polytunnel pumpkin trail, and venture on a fungi walk with internationally regarded botanist, Dr Mark Spencer. There will be conker competitions, cake and more.
5. Let's Get Quizzical
The Holly Lodge Centre's annual quiz night is on Oct 25, 7:30 pm at the Avenue Halls in Kew. Hosted by TV presenter and actor Adrian Mills, the evening includes Italian cheeses and charcuterie, a licensed bar and raffle prizes. All proceeds go to the Holly Lodge Centre.

6. Winning Words
The finalists of Arts Richmond's New Plays Competition have been revealed and four chosen plays will be performed on October 13, 3 pm at Richmond's Orange Tree Theatre. After the performances, a judging panel will select their favourite script, and the Mayor of the Borough will present the winning writer with their trophy and prize.

7. Seasonal Flow

Beware! The flower-filled idyll that is RBG Kew is having a macabre makeover. Halloween at Kew is a brand new 1.5 km light trail that winds its way through the world-famous gardens. Watch out for daring fire artists, creepy characters and glowing pumpkins before exploring the fiendish fire garden and entering the haunted woods.
Also at Kew Gardens, the much-loved book Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson comes to life through a brand new family-friendly trail. Oct 19 - Nov 3, free with day garden admission.

13. Hocus Pocus at the Eventim Apollo

The iconic 1993 Disney film Hocus Pocus tells the story of three witches who are accidentally brought back to life on Halloween night. This one-off London show at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, features a screening of the film with John Debney's brilliant score performed by a live orchestra.

Perfect for science enthusiasts, families, and all curious minds, New Scientist Live 2024 at ExCeL London, features over 70 expert speakers, including geneticist Adam Rutherford, anthropologist Alice Roberts and astrophysicist Jo Dunkley, with interactive exhibits including VR nuclear reactor tours and Red Arrow Hawk cockpit experiences.
15. Paw-fect Day
Join fellow dog lovers for a charity dog walk across Wimbledon Common on Sat October 5. Raising money for the Wimbledon Guild, a charity which aims to combat loneliness, Waggy Walk is a celebration of community - and dogs!
Tickets cost £16 (for adults and children), and £16.50 for additional children, including a dog goody bag. You do not need a dog to take part! There is two routes of 4 km or 7 km.
16. Affordable Art Fair
