Best for Country, Blues & Rap
Winner of Timeout's Best Music Venue in 2018, Ram Jam Records is a terrific little venue that showcases everything from rap to country. The venue's website proclaims, "there are no limitations - if it's good, you'll find it here".
Saturdays are dedicated to blues, soul, and funk, with the stage frequented by many of the most talented performers in London.
And every third Thursday of the month, the venue hosts 'Rappers' Delight', an evening to showcase emerging talent from the local rap scene.
Situated in the back of The Grey Horse pub, this venue also benefits from the pub kitchen's award-winning food. Smok'd at the Grey Horse features one of the area's best Sunday roasts and incredibly delicious smoked meats and barbecue classics.

Watermill Jazz Club, Dorking

There are so many great jazz clubs in Surrey, but I've singled out Watermill Jazz because they run performances throughout the year and are very open to non-members.
Housed in the Betchworth Park Golf Club, the club hosts shows every Tuesday at 8 pm. It's comfortable, casual, and intimate but attracts some of the best performers.
A separate bar is next to the venue, so you can grab a drink before kicking back to listen to some sweet, soulful jazz. Watermill Jazz is also a volunteer organisation, so you know they put the music first.
