Tired of endless pantomime recommendations? The Rose Theatre's got a more thoughtful take on the festive spirit with its new production of A Christmas Carol from Dec 1 – Jan 3
Bah, Humbug!
It's an absolute Christmas classic, but we never tire of seeing it brought back to life, whether on stage, radio, or by Muppets. Ciaran McConville is directing his new adaptation of A Christmas Carol at The Rose Theatre this December, featuring members of the Rose Youth Theatre alongside a company of experienced actors.
I doubt I need to refresh any of you on the story, but just in case... Ebenezer Scrooge is the most miserly man in London, and utterly disdains carols, children and charity – when his past, present and future join forces to haunt him, he finds himself taking another look at the Christmas spirit.
Those looking for something a bit more musical will find 80s pop idol Rick Astley bringing his "weekend hobby band" The Luddites to the Rose Theatre on December 18, in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. It promises to be a great evening of musical surprises, with tickets from just £12!
A Christmas Carol will be at the Rose Theatre until January 3
