1. Newlands Corner
Located 4 miles east of Guildford town centre, Newlands Corner is a popular and beautiful walk featuring some of the best views of the Surrey Hills. Self-guided walking routes and a natural play trail are available.
Newlands Corner also has a large free car park, although time is limited, as well as picnic tables and a café window serving food, drinks and ice cream!

2. Silent Pool and St Martha's Hill
Silent Pool on St Marthas Hill is a very popular area for hiking, running, walking and dog walking. This 9.2km loop trail near Shere is generally considered a more challenging route than some, averaging 2 hours and 40 minutes to complete. So, if you enjoy walk that’ll work up a sweat this one is perfect for you!
There is a car park available and alongside it is Albury Vineyard where walkers can reward themselves by tasting some English wine.

3. Guildford and the River Wey
The walk from Guildford along the river Wey is a circular route can combine a day of shopping with a lovely picturesque walk. This 2-mile walk is a circular route in and around central Guildford finishing at Guildford Castle.
The river Wey is a scenic river bustling with life, rowing teams and beautiful house boats to spot along the way.
This walk is mainly on well-made tarmac paths alongside Shalford Meadows where cattle graze, so dogs are welcome but asked to be kept on their leads. Located just behind the Guildford Cornmarket there are plenty of places for refreshments and food in the town.

4. Shalford Park and Loseley Park
Get to know this 11.7 circular trail near Guildford that is a favoured route for birding, hiking, running, and dog walking (on a lead). This route is considered a moderately challenging route due to its distance, averaging 2 hours and 55 minutes to complete.
While taking this route you will encounter Loseley Park, a historic manor house which has been owned by the same family since the 1500s and featured in Netflix’s The Crown.
There is a small free Car park with the approximate post code GU4 8AD.

5. The Onslow Arms Park and Woodland Trail
This 7.9km circular trail near Ripley takes an average of 2 hours to complete and is a popular walk for birding, hiking, running and dog walking where they may be off-lead in some areas.
This route begins and ends at The Onslow Arms in West Clandon where walkers can prepare themselves or reward themselves with a hearty meal and refreshment.

6. Farnham to Guildford on the North Downs Way
Enjoy this vast 19.3km trail from Farnham to Guildford. This is a well-liked area for backpacking, hiking and running with pubs and cafes along the way for walks to stop for refreshments. This walk is for those who are looking for a full day excursion, averaging around 5 hours to complete. Make sure to bring lots of water and a packed lunch, there are a few pubs and cafes to stop by on your way.
One suggestion is to stay clear of this walk on a rainy day, as parts of the walk can become flooded in bad weather.

7. Guildford to Gomshall on the North Downs Way
This 16 km walk begins in Guildford town alongside the river Wey and takes you through Newlands corner to the town of Gomshall. This route allows walkers and dogs to appreciate the views of the North Downs and then can lead them to any of Gomshalls pubs if they wish to have a rest and refreshment after.

8. Guildford to Pyrford
This peaceful 14.4km walk passes through central Guildford and takes walkers to the remains of Newark Priory near Pyrford. It is almost an entirely riverside and canal-based walk with serene and peaceful scenery and the odd spotting of canal boats.
Car parking is available in central Guildford and dogs are welcome when kept on a lead.

This nice and simple walk requires no map and it’s not too long, meaning walkers can do this on low energy and just enjoy the scenery of the river Wey.
This 9km walk can take a bit over two hours and can be a very muddy trail, so make sure you bring your wellies!
Starting at Guildford there are lots of places to park and dogs are welcome on leads.

10. Whitmoor Common and Jordan Hill
Last but not least, why not head out on this 6.4km circular woodland trail. This trail is a good one for nature spotters, home to an array for animals and animals as well as being a rare habitat for night jars, dragon flies and water voles.
This walk has accessible parking starting at the large Whitmoor Common car park on Say Box Lane and dogs are welcome, but must be on a lead.
