Be Richmond, the Business Improvement District (BID), has partnered with The Poppy Factory to commemorate over 100 years of service with the 'Be Remembered' campaign.
The initiative celebrates over a century of impactful work and the remarkable stories of those connected to the historic charity.
As part of the campaign, vibrant poppy installations have been positioned across Richmond town centre, reminding the community of the extraordinary legacy of The Poppy Factory, which has been at the heart of veteran support.
Founded in 1922, The Poppy Factory has supported wounded, injured, and sick veterans, helping them rebuild their lives and secure meaningful employment.
For a century, it has played a vital role in the lives of thousands, producing millions of iconic Remembrance poppies.
This marks not just a milestone for the charity, but a time to reflect on the inspiring stories of resilience and hope shared by veterans and their families who have been touched by The Poppy Factory’s work.
Be Richmond’s collaboration with The Poppy Factory brings these stories to life through a series of symbolic poppy installations throughout the town centre.
Planters filled with bright red poppies have been placed in key locations, creating a poignant visual reminder of the charity’s legacy and inviting the public to pause, reflect, and remember.
Each installation serves as a tribute to the veterans who have worked at or benefited from The Poppy Factory’s support, as well as their families.
“We are delighted to be working with The Poppy Factory to celebrate this milestone” said Anna Bromley, Be Richmond Marketing Manager.
“The 'Be Remembered' campaign is not only a way to mark this significant occasion but also an opportunity to share the powerful stories of those who have been part of The Poppy Factory’s journey.
“Our poppy installations throughout Richmond town centre serve as a tribute to their service and a reminder of the ongoing importance of the charity’s work,” she added.
The 'Be Remembered' campaign invites locals and visitors alike to engage with the history of The Poppy Factory and learn more about the charity’s century-long impact.
