Everyone's favourite Britain's Got Talent judge has thrown open the doors of her gorgeous Surrey home for the first time
We’re used to seeing her on Saturday nights, casting her judgement over hopeful performers on Britains’ Got Talent. Now, Amanda Holden has left herself open to the critical eye of the nation after she opened up the interiors of her rather lavish Surrey home. The 47-year-old actress and presenter resides in the million-pound mansion with husband Chris, along with their two daughters Holly, 6, and Lexi, 12.
Something old, something new
While she once confessed that she wished their luxurious property looked like it was more ‘lived in’ and less of a showpiece, the countryside home seems to offer the best of both worlds; and in some style. The living room reveals a blend of old and new, with a grand piano stealing the limelight amid the geometric print wallpaper. The setting was the backdrop for the TV star to show off her floor-length gown prior to the 2017 Pride of Britain Awards.
A home fit for a celebrity
Of course, it helps to afford a home such as this if you’re on television every Saturday night but, then, not everybody who lives in Amanda’s neighbourhood is a celebrity. There are other ways of reaching such levels of income or savings to be in a position to buy a property like this. Other careers, such as medicine or software development, pay a high salary, of course, while many choose to start their own business.
Putting in the hours
Amanda told Bella Magazine that it had taken an entire year of pestering for the couple to buy the property after they came across it on a walk in the country. Since they signed on the dotted line, however, Amanda and Chris have put in countless hours of work in completing the house, while maintaining the rustic furnish flair.
Showing off
Amanda showed off the fruits of their labour on social media, including their renovations of an old fireplace. But, despite all of the hard work, Amanda insists that they avoided making the home appear overly pristine, as they didn’t want their two daughters feeling like they had to be extra careful all of the time. The home includes a play area for the two girls, with a playroom full of toys, including dolls of Elsa and Anna from Frozen, and a pink oven.
Practice makes perfect
Amanda, who practices yoga, showed off the outside area where she works on her poses. One of her posts showed the actress meditating in her gym gear as she looked over their lush green garden. Amanda confessed that her passion for Los Angeles played a huge role in the look of the home, with an emphasis on airy spaces and open plan rooms.
