Our independent review
A mainstream co-educational independent school for pupils aged from 4-to-18
Founded in 1993, the Harrodian School has grown from a small school of 65 pupils to a current intake of close to 1000 students.
Great results: 52% A*-A grades at A levels and 71% 9-7 grades at GCSE in 2019. Pupils excel in languages as well as business, drama and ICT.
Hard to believe such vast facilities could be found in the heart of town. All pupils encouraged to join sports teams but the emphasis is not overly competitive.
Families mainly affluent Barnes residents quite relaxed and a few first-time buyers. The general atmosphere is the ability to achieve without stress!
Admission to the Senior School at 13+ is by examination at Common Entrance or the school’s own examinations and interview.
Admission to the Sixth Form is by examination, interview and GCSE results.
University destinations vary from very good to top choices across the UK.
About the school
The Harrodian is an exciting, vibrant and high-achieving learning environment that lays firm academic foundations for our pupils and prepares them for a positive and confident transition into the adult world.
Pupils are inspired to succeed and excel in all levels of their academic studies, as well as to develop a broad range of interests and skills.
The school is a friendly and warm educational community, which encourages pupils' individuality whilst providing a unique environment in which to foster close and long-lasting friendships.
Founded in 1993, the Harrodian School has grown from a small school of 65 pupils to our current intake of 990 pupils as of September 2015.
Class sizes are approximately 22 and all pupils have both a Form Tutor and Head of Year to look after them and oversee their academic and personal well-being.
The school's success and popularity can be attributed, in part, to our excellent academic results, state-of-the-art facilities and beautiful grounds and to the range of choice and opportunity available to each child.
We are careful to employ passionate and dedicated specialist teachers and support staff who work together to offer Harrodians an all-round, balanced and stimulating education.
