Pine Ridge Dog Sanctuary has been providing quality shelter and accommodation for dogs since 1958.
It was founded by Bernard Cuff after learning of a new by-law introduced in Slough banning unleashed dogs from the highways. Dog wardens were appointed to pick up and impound any dogs found on the streets, regardless of whether they were sitting outside their own front gate or were actual strays on the streets. There were no local rescue centres open at the time, so after seven days if the impounded dog had not been collected it was destroyed. Now, Connie Cuff, widow of Bernard, is still ever-keen to ensure the dogs go to the right home, which is achieved by matching the owner and dog on an interview basis.
All dogs are fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered if they are old enough before they leave. The sanctuary is an ideal place to go to give a loving dog a new home. Open 7 days a week.
Pine Ridge Dog Sanctuary is a registered charity (256728) and relies solely on donations and legacies.
