Our independent review
Mainstream independent day and boarding school for pupils aged 13-18
For good boarding school type education with a touch of modernism. No uniform, teachers and pupils on first name terms, yet the mood is highly respectful.
2019 saw 46% A*-A at A level and 23% 9-7 at GCSE. English, Maths, Geography and History are always popular, Art even more so. More.
Around the school one constantly reads three words: think, create, explore. These sum up the FH ethos.
Just under 50% of students leave after GCSE to attend local/state sixth form colleges.

"A place to grow up in. Every kind of opportunity to become the person you are meant to be and to learn about others while you’re at it. Civilised, liberal values with wraparound care and support. We loved it.
"Arguably, the most impressively led art dept in the country. A strong sense that mutual respect and mutual support is central to the ethos of the place. Different, diverse, distinctive." The Good Schools Guide 2013
