Farnham Heath is part of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and an example of heathland restoration in progress.
By clearing the dense rows of conifers, we are opening up the land to create bright sunny areas where wildlife can flourish. This is also improving the views across the Weald so you can take in the wider landscape. You'll already notice the results, with purple heather and yellow flowering gorse emerging, and rare heathland wildlife returning.
Grayling butterflies flutter on the breeze, the sounds of woodlarks and nightjars echo across the clearings and sand lizards bask in the sun. The reserve also has wooded areas with wonderful displays of bluebells in spring and an amazing variety of fungi in the autumn.
There are three nature trails of differing lengths which will help you explore the heath and discover all that it has to offer.
