Atithi' means guest, the word is taken from an ancient Sanskrit verse 'Atithi Devo Bhava' which simply means – consider the guest as god. The team and head chef at Atihi strive on this ethos; providing its guests authentically prepared quality Indian food with a friendly and efficient service.
Head chef Krishnapal Negi was born in Mumbai and began his culinary career at the prestigious Oberoi Hotel Group in India where he gained extensive experience whilst working with several Indian master chefs. He then moved on to work in some of the most prestigious Hotels and restaurants around the world including The Oberoi Grand Calcutta, Le Saint Geran Mauritius, Yatra in Mayfair and the Michelin starred Rasoi Vineet Bhatia in Chelsea.
Krishnapal came to Twickenham in 2004 as head chef to open Tangawizi, where he won the Michelin BIB gourmand award, he then moved to Swagat in Richmond and in 2011 opened his own restaurant – Atithi.
