A Novel Idea

When Catalyst and the Welcome Project took over a bookshop in central Godalming as part of their work to improve wellbeing and mental health, they asked local people to come up with a new name and ‘A Novel Idea’ was born.

It provides a high quality bookshop for local people (and further afield) and the income generated supports The Welcome Project which offers a range of wellbeing activities to local people of working age.

The bookshop has been and continues to be staffed entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers, some involved for 20 years.  There is a range of high quality fiction, non fiction and children’s books all of which have been donated.

A Novel Idea also work closely with local schools and donate excess stock to support their libraries.
