With the Rugby World Cup 2015 Trophy Tour doing the rounds at Surrey, Charles Raspin runs down the local tour stops for rugby fans
The Webb Ellis cup has spent the 500 days leading up to the Rugby World Cup 2015 travelling around the world to all sorts of sports clubs, rugby hotspots and other landmarks, with the last 100 days spent in Britain itself – I'm surprised no-one tried to kick it over the posts of Stonehenge!
The Trophy Tour has already come to three Team Bases in Surrey – Surrey Sports Park, home to Ireland and Italy, Cobham RFC, hosts of Namibia and Italy, and London Irish, base for Fiji and Wales – check my round-up below to find the last few remaining tour stops, and don't forget to tweet with #CelebratingRugby!
Another Team Base found close to home is The Lensbury & St. Mary’s University in Twickenham. They'll be hosting New Zealand and South Africa, two very strong teams - and will be hosting a private session with the Webb Ellis cup on September 10. Members only!
Pennyhill Park Hotel has yet to announce any events, but they're Team Base to England.

The Windmill is a great Clapham pub, and courtesy of Heineken they'll be hosting the Webb Ellis cup on the evening of September 12. You'll have a chance to win a pair of Heineken hospitality tickets for a World Cup match, including a backstadium tour and the chance to be in the tunnel when the coin is flipped! If you don't win, you can still enjoy the lovely leather sofas, delicious craft beers, and juicy burgers from the pub's Burgershack.
