It’s cold and wet and festive food is oh so tempting, but you can’t slack off on fitness! Join Santa in working off a belly like a bowlful of jelly, and raise money with these Christmas fun runs around Surrey and SW London.
Every year, you see mobs of folk clad in the red-and-white, most of them rather too slim for the role of Santa Claus, enjoying a crisp winter morning (or braving the miserable cold, depending on your perspective) in aid of charity.
It's your turn to join them! Don the red cap, lace up your running shoes, and help someone in need have a Christmas to remember.
If walking is more your speed, a number of these "runs" welcome slower-paced participants – or you can join the Ramblers Association on their Winter Walks. Their free annual festival runs from Dec 19 – Jan 3, and offers routes across South-West London and Surrey, with walks of varying lengths – led by experienced ramblers – to suit all levels or routes that you can download and walk at leisure.
