This year's Surrey Half Marathon takes place on March 13, and promises to be even bigger than the last. The deadline to sign up is drawing ever closer
With live music from a dozen bands, aid stations ready to hand out water, and a cheering public gathered at the roadside, the run promises to be an event worth remembering. The route loops around 21km of closed Surrey roads, from Woking Leisure Centre through Guildford and back.
A goody-bag awaits runners at the finish, including a Surrey Half-Marathon scarf, some locally supplied (and much needed) post-race nutrition, and a medal. Times will be instantly available on the Half-Marathon's free phone app, and runners can even access clips of their triumphant finish on Youtube.
Those who come along to offer moral support can enjoy an event village including charity stalls and mobile cafes, as well as free wifi and the ability to track their running friends with their phones. The local charity partner this year is Woking & Sam Beare Hospices.
There are special challenges for kids and corporate teams – check out the website for details.
Entry is £34 for adults, £10 for kids. The price increases on February 2, so enter soon!
