Doug Addecott, manager at Moore's Cycling shop in Teddington, highlights his favourite cycling route for April
DISTANCE: Around 50 kms
DIFFICULTY: Couple of big climbs – 7 out of 10
CAFES: Giro Café (Esher), Costa Coffee (Dorking) and Hampton Court Sandwich & Coffee Company
One of my favourite and most challenging routes is the Surrey Hills loop that takes on Ranmore and Leith Hill. The roads are good and the traffic is light throughout, allowing me to simply enjoy being in the saddle. The descent from Leith Hill is what this loop is all about for me, it’s a fantastic reward for the climb that precedes it. An all-round tough ride, but a rewarding one with fantastic views of Surrey.
