Hidden away above the Lush shop in Kingston is a charming, country cottage style spa, where I recently enjoyed a fantastic massage treatment.

While you snuggle down in pyjamas in a warm bed, listening to a backing track of reworked hits by The Beatles, your therapist relieves your tension with a series of passive stretches and massage.

At the end you will feel marvellous and be presented with a refreshing cup of tea and a plate of Jammy Dodgers. I confess I wolfed these down and went straight out and bought a family pack…
