Hazelwood, home of London Irish, will host an incredible 28-hour rugby match on August 15-16, setting a new world record in aid of charity
The current world record for a marathon rugby union match is held by the Boars and Barbarians, who clashed at Bromsgrove RFC last year. After an exhausting match lasting 25 hours, 59 minutes, and 47 seconds, victory was achieved (with over 2500 points scored in total) on August 25.
That match was in aid of the charity Scotty's Little Soldiers, who will be topping themselves once more this August with a Guinness World Record Rugby Match at Hazelwood, home of the London Irish.
On August 15-16, starting at 10am and finishing around 2pm the following day, teams representing Scotty's Little Soldiers and the School of Hard Knocks will play a 28-hour game of full-contact rugby.
Entry and parking are free, and there'll be loads of food and drink on offer - don't miss the chance to come along and support two amazing charities as their teams make history.
Hazelwood Training Centre offers touch-rugby every Tuesday and Thursday this summer - pitch up and play (or train) for just £2.50 from 9-10am
Through August they'll also be offering London Irish Rugby Camps for 6-16 year-olds of all abilities, boys and girls, at £89 for three days. The camps run August 3-5 and 17-19 – book online or call 01932 750 132
