hockey in surrey
This autumn sees the launch of Back to Hockey for men in Surrey – a new programme set to attract thousands of male players back into the popular team sport.
Following on from the success of the Back to Hockey women's campaign, sessions for men kick off this month at Chertsey Thames Valley Hockey Club, Guildford Hockey Club, Surrey Spartans Hockey Club and Woking Hockey Club.
Whether you've played previously and are looking to make your comeback or perhaps just want to take up a new sport, everyone is welcome to take part.
Back to Hockey sessions are a great way to develop your fitness, build upper body strength, work on that six pack and have fun with your mates!
Back to Hockey focuses on exciting, small sided games and match play whilst also improving your muscle strength and endurance.
Over half the clubs involved also have a bar on-site so you can enjoy a well-deserved cold drink afterwards.
“Back to Hockey offers a perfect opportunity for men of all ages to play hockey, I’m in full support of the campaign" said London 2012 Olympian and Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Dan Fox.
"Hockey’s a brilliant sport for getting fit, socialising, and showing your competitive streak if you’ve got one!”
England & GB forward David Beckett added: “There are a lot of people who used to play hockey, and for whatever reason don’t play anymore. Back To Hockey has been really successful for the women’s game, and it would be great to see male players making their comeback this year and getting involved in club hockey.”
Back to Hockey is available at the following clubs from September 2014:

Guildford Hockey Club, Wednesdays 8-9pm at Broadwater School
