FREE local live-streamed fitness classes
Almost as soon as lockdown began, energetic local fitness coach, Jackson Creegan, started running free online fitness sessions.
As gyms and fitness studios were closing their doors and social distancing was starting to prevent Jackson from running his normal personal training and group fitness sessions, the popularity of his digital classes soared, and before long he had over 50 participants logging every week for a free workout.
Spotting an opportunity to raise money for a good cause, Jackson asked that rather than paying him for the 40-minute sessions (which are run via online video conferencing tool Zoom), participants could instead, if they were able, make a donation to the NHS at this vital time. Impressively, he raised more than £800 in just a week.
Weekly classes every Friday
“My company, Jacksonfit, prides itself on its social values and friendly approach and so it was no surprise to me that people responded so quickly and generously’ Jackson enthuses.
"I was delighted to use our friendly fitness community to ask people to donate to our wonderful NHS and social care staff"
Jackson, who lives in Barnes, is the founder of the fun and friendly Jacksonfit social fitness community, which prides itself on its encouraging, supportive and empathetic approach to health and exercise.
This bank holiday Friday’s session is set to be a particularly colourful one, as attendees are being invited to dress in their brightest, loudest clothing in support of our NHS heroes. The idea is to create a collective ‘rainbow’ across all the involved computer screens and to have plenty of fun and laughter whilst exercising together.
Jackson's FREE fundraising fitness class takes place every Friday at 9 am. If you'd like to join simply message Jackson via Instagram, or get in touch via the Jacksonfit website.
