It's vital to keep your eyes on the road, and just as important that they're protected along the way. Jon Halfhide of Putney Cycles advises us on the best lenses
Good eyewear should give both clarity and protection.
1) Choose protection from all angles. A model that wraps around your face provides a barrier from rain and overhanging branches.
2) Make sure to get lenses for all conditions. Some glasses have inter-changeable lenses, but otherwise you'll want to buy more than one pair.
3) Most important is to go for the best quality. Forget fashion, sports-specific shades do the job properly. Polycarbonate is tougher than ordinary plastic. Look for 100% UVA and UVB resistance. Ensure the lens has as little distortion as possible - uneven lens finishes can cause headaches or flawed depth perception.
