Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) training is taking over the fitness world and is used by some of the biggest names in fashion, movies and sports.
An EMS workout uses electric impulses that contract your muscles while performing simple exercises. How EMS works
The sensation of the pulses has been described as similar to sitting on a massage chair and is increased throughout the 20-minute session.
"People of all ages train with me because the movements and routines are simple but extremely effective. Some want to build strength, balance out their weekend fun or fight cellulite," Alba says.
"However, the older we get, the more specific reasons can be for EMS training, especially for those over 50 when muscle mass decreases much faster than in your 30s. I find people are looking to increase their muscle strength to prevent osteoporosis or other conditions associated with loss of muscle mass over time.
