The Yehudi Menuhin School was founded in beautiful Stoke d’Abernon, following a visit by Lord Menuhin to Moscow, where he had witnessed extraordinarily talented young people being given the opportunity to develop their potential as musicians in a dedicated environment. This specialist music school, which opened with only 15 pupils, now educates 70 young people, aged from 8 to 19. Pupils come from all around the world and each has an individual timetable, specially constructed to provide a balanced musical and academic education. The school provides specialist teaching in piano, strings, and, a recent addition, the guitar, which was made possible by a generous donation from The Rolling Stones!
