Looking for something to keep the kids entertained over half term that's a little bit different? Well look no further, for the team at the London Wetlands Centre is organising a fun, wetlands-themed game of Guess Who? for all of its young guests between October 21-29. Complimentary Guess Who? game cards will be provided for all paid admission during these dates, with 24 wonderful wetland creatures to choose from.
Kids will need to use their ID skills and powers of observation to guess which wetland animal their playing partner has selected – does your animal have feathers? Does your animal have two legs? This family classic has been enjoyed up and down the country since 1982 and for good reason: its simplicity and enjoyability to play cleverly disguises its huge utility to the cognitive development of young children as they ask the right yes or no questions to guess their partner’s animal.
Once they've finished playing, budding biologists can even join the wetland wardens to learn more about some of the animals that live there and go on a walk around the reserve to see them in real life. And if your kids' want to challenge their friends to a game at home then you can buy your very own Wetland Wildlife Guess Who? game from the WWT shop.
And it's not just Guess Who? going on at the London Wetlands Centre over half term – kids can participate in a variety of other activities like a nationwide earthworm survey, building bug hotels or joining the WWT team to try pond dipping. Who knows what mini-beasts they might find!
