A woman in her 50s was robbed and kicked in the stomach by a man on a bike as she walked along Holmesdale Road in Reigate.
The victim was approached by a man on a pedal cycle at around 10.15am last Friday (September 26). The man then kicked her in the stomach and demanded money.
She handed over between £80 and £100 in cash and the offender left the scene in the direction of Croydon Road.
The incident was reported to Surrey Police on the afternoon of Monday, 29 September, and detectives from East Surrey CID are now appealing for information.
“This was a unprovoked and vicious assault on a lone woman walking through Reigate, although she was not injured during the attack, she was left extremely shaken and we will do all we can to find this offender” said Investigating officer Detective Constable Steven Cassidy.
“I would urge anyone who has their suspicions around someone they know who they believe is capable of carrying out such an offence to contact officers with information as a matter of urgency.”
The offender is described as male, possibly in his late teens, he spoke with a southern accent and was wearing a dark coloured beanie style hat.
The bike he was riding was a red coloured adult sized bike.
