Katherine Davies, founder and CEO of Iguacu (pronounced igwah-soo), is a Battersea mother who is walking to Switzerland to take messages4peace to the head of the peace talks in Geneva. She left from London on March 15, the fifth anniversary of the start of the horror, and is expected to arrive at the peace talks sometime in early May.
The message4peace campaign is non-denominational, non-political and derives from a humanitarian perspective. It is a very quick and simple way of giving people all over the world a voice in the peace process. Adding a message4peace on the Website, Twitter or Facebook pages costs nothing and takes less than a minute, but will be handed directly to the head of the peace talks at the UN Summit.
Katherine's main charity Iguacu provides in depth analytical research into trouble spots around the world in order to provide information on the most efficient and efficacious NGO's working in the areas it covers. The company operates on the principals of best practices of charities worldwide, to ensure financial transparency and good governance. The independent advice of Iguacu lets people give with confidence, knowing their donations are going to the right people, and will cause the most benefit possible. You can check out the areas Iguacu cover here
Katherine is very connected to life in Battersea where she has brought up her two children. The park is her source of peace and inspiration and is where the idea of Iguacu came to her. Driven by a humanitarian outlook and a desire to help others, she has dedicated huge amounts of time and effort to trying to get help to those most in need of it. Please do get involved, this is a hugely worthy cause and a chance to have your voice heard by the head of the peace talks at the UN.
“When a great many stop, think of Syria, and take a minute to write their message for peace, and help spread the word, we can together put real pressure on the parties to the conflict to deliver urgently an enduring peace. The collective public voice has been missing. Five years on, we may be disturbed, frustrated by the crisis but there is something we can do. We can turn our frustration into action. Let’s send a strong message to Geneva.” – Katherine Davies.
