Missing man: David Hutchinson
Surrey police have issued an appeal to find man who disappeared from a mental health unit in Walton-on-the-Hill on 20 July
They are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of David Hutchinson who went missing from a unit in Walton-on-the-Hill on Sunday (20 July).
Officers are appealing for help in tracing the 30-year-old who was last seen at 3-20pm.
He was later seen in Redhill town centre and on CCTV by the bus stop at 4-20pm.
Mr Hutchinson had been detained under the Mental Health Act and it is believed he does not have his medication.
Police are contacting friends and family of Mr Hutchinson but so far he has not made any contact.
Mr Hutchinson, who was previously known as David Goodyer, is described as white, 1.82m tall, of a slim build, with dark brown shaved hair. He is described as clean-shaven and has a piercing in his left ear but no earring.
He was last seen wearing a grey tee-shirt, blue jeans and brown trainers.
Detective Sergeant Tristan Hardiman, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are asking for the public's help in tracing Mr Hutchinson. Although there is no indication of any direct threat to the public, anyone who believes they have seen him is urged not to approach him but to phone police on 101, quoting reference number P14210062.
DS Hardiman added: "Because we believe he has not taken his medication, he may also be at risk of harming himself, and our concern is increasing with each day that passes. We are carrying out extensive searches for Mr Hutchinson, but we need the public's help.”
