Surrey Police has concluded its investigation into the unexplained death of a man in the car park of East Surrey Hospital in Redhill.
Officers were called to the hospital on Canada Avenue, Redhill just before 5pm on Tuesday, 26 August, after a man in his 70s was found collapsed in the car park area.
He had earlier been discharged from the hospital, but his subsequent collapse was said to be down to an ‘unrelated illness’.
He was taken into the Accident and Emergency department where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
“We can confirm that a man in his 70’s collapsed and died near the entrance to the golf club car park on the East Surrey Hospital site following a routine Out-patient imaging appointment” said a spokesperson for Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
Last week, an appeal was made for more information into how the man in his 70s died.
Officers have now concluded their investigation and believe there to have been no third party involvement.
A post mortem on Friday 29 August revealed he died of natural causes.
