gillian and patrick kettyle murdered
The family of married couple Patrick and Gillian Kettyle, who were murdered last week at their Fetcham home, have spoken publicly for the first time since their death.
The bodies of the couple, who were in their fifties, were found last week after their son called the police to their home at around 12.30am.
A post-mortem concluded that they died as a result of stab wounds.
Viktoras Bruzas, 38, from Walton-on-Thames, was located after a mass manhunt, and has been charged with murder.
“On behalf of the family of Patrick and Gillian Kettyle we would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of kindness and support that has been shown to all of us during this most difficult time" said their family.
"Our special thanks also go to the paramedics and police.
"Pat and Gilly were a wonderful couple who loved each other dearly.
"They were the most fantastic parents and their children will feel their loss terribly.
"Gilly’s sister, Hilary and Pat’s sister, Polly, are truly devastated.
"Gilly’s mother, Marjorie, has suffered the most horrendous loss of one of her children.
"It is true to say that the light in our world has been dimmed with their loss.”
Bruzas has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at The Old Bailey on Friday, 19 December.
