A co-ordinated partnership of Mole Valley’s Neighbourhood police team, Mole Valley District Council’s parking enforcement officers and the DVLA will be working together on a joint enforcement day across the district to reduce anti-social parking.
Following feedback from local communities concerned with anti-social parking, this joint-enforcement day will tackle specific areas in Mole Valley where poor parking causes inconvenience and distress.
Councillor Charles Yarwood, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Property, Parking & Economic Development said, “We encourage sensible and legal parking throughout Mole Valley as that’s what keeps our roads flowing, especially around our town centres and built up residential areas. Inconsiderate parking causes residents and businesses real issues and it can lead to dangerous situations.
“For example, vehicles parking on both sides of a road can reduce traffic flow and could prevent emergency vehicles from reaching those in need.
“Working with partners to tackle parking issues is a positive way of improving the lives of all those who live, work and visit our district. This joint enforcement day will highlight the work that we all do every day to ensure our roads are accessible and safe. I wish all those involved a successful operation.”
Mole Valley’s Police Inspector Richard Hamlin said, “This day is a great way of reminding drivers of their responsibilities when they park. We will take the opportunity to check vehicles credentials, roadworthiness and insurance cover as a further boost to the day’s effectiveness.”
