The White Brasserie Company is putting on its inaugural Festival of Flavour April 11-17. The festival will be on at The March Hare in Guildford, The Sun Inn in Chobham and the Queen's Head in Weybridge.
A celebration of flavour and all things delicious is coming to Surrey over April as the White Brasserie Company puts on its inaugural Festival of Flavour from April 11-17 across its Surrey pubs. The festival aims to get people to step out of their flavour comfort zone when it comes to food and drink. With this aim in mind there will be a number of adventurous amuse bouches, as well as some of the brasserie's legendary pie specials, plus a whole host of wines, cheeses and fun food based activities to feast your taste buds upon.
Throughout the week, the White Brasserie pubs will also be serving the company's very own festival beer – Same Again. A full-flavoured bitter with undertones of malt, spice and citrus, Same Again aims to be the perfect accompaniment to the hearty flavoursome dishes that will be on offer at the festival.
These are all the things you and the family can look forward to at the Festival of Flavour:
- FestivalFeast – a specially priced menu available every day of the festival, comprising bubbly, three delicious courses from the new spring A La Carte menu, a glass of wine and coffee for only £30
- Try Something New Today – tastings and complimentary amuse bouche for all guests featuring steak tartare, black pudding and snail & herb purée to name a few.
- Are You a Super Taster? – diners can take the challenge to see who of their friends and family have the tastebuds of a champion. Simply ask any of the staff wearing a super taster t-shirt to have a taste bud testing.
- Perfect Pies – the three winning recipes of White Brasserie Company’s Pie in the Sky competition that ran throughout British Pie Week, will be on the specials board during the festival. We hugely recommend trying one of the prize-winning pies with a pint of the festival beer, Same Again. Pie and beer = happiness.
- Festival Cocktail – take your tastebuds on an adventure with the specially created Chilli Lychee cocktail, just £5 all week
- Say Cheese! – a complimentary taster of the ‘out there’ festival fromage, a fantastically tastebud-testing mystery cheese, specially selected by Eric Charriaux, co-founder of the Premier Cheese Company. Mystery cheese, what more could you want?
- Festival Favourite Wines – a host of festival favourite wines including Kleine Zalze Chenin Blanc and Callia Cabernet Sauvignon will be available throughout the week. For every festival bottle purchased, diners will receive a 30% off voucher to use on a second bottle (naughty) of any of the festival favourites up until June 30th
- The Big Grill – a meaty feast for the weekend, the chefs have created a mixed grill, not to be missed. House specials of onglet steak, Barnsley double lamb chop, Toulouse sausage, black pudding, kidney are just some of the fantastic cuts of meat to get excited about.
- Fun for kids – little ones are challenged to take Henri le Worm on a food adventure and create a short story about the French cooking worm extraordinaire, created by Raymond Blanc’s son, Oli. Oli Blanc will then judge the entries and the winning story will win an iPad Mini.
- Family Fun – the pubs will also be holding a family fun day on April 17 with blind tastings for kids and other fun foodie activities throughout the day
All diners during the festival will also have the opportunity to enter an exciting prize draw to win a vineyard tour and meal for four at the Chapel Down Winery.
