Finally Elstead's The Mill celebrates Christmas
Customers at The Mill in Elstead have been waiting a long time to have their Christmas dinner since floods ravaged the pub in December
The Mill at Elstead put Christmas on hold after being devastated in the December floods - until now that is!
The Mill at Elstead has celebrated its long-awaited reopening and renovation with a Christmas lunch for its loyal customers. Better late than never!
On Saturday, May 17 The Mill at Elstead was finally able to raise a glass of cheer and enjoy a long-awaited Christmas dinner - some five months after being devastated in the December floods.
The pub’s landlord and lady, Jeff and Georgia Watts, wanted to recreate some festive cheer for those who had booked Christmas Day lunch with them. And so they put on a festive celebration for all the local residents who were due to celebrate last Christmas at The Mill.
As well as serving a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, Santa Claus himself made a special appearance and even brought some snow from the North Pole to make the day even more special.
Only five months late then. Or seven months early, depending on how you look at it!
