Aiza Chihuahua missing
A couple are desperate to find their missing Chihuahua Aiza, who disappeared while on a walk on Puttenham Common in Guildford on Friday (Dec 5).
Aiza’s owner Frances Young was walking Aiza along with her other dog, English Bull Terrier Max.
Aiza was spooked my two larger dogs who came towards her, and darted off into the undergrowth.
She has not been seen since. She was wearing a red collar and is microchipped.
Aiza’s owners, Frances and her husband Mark, live in Ash. They believe Aiza might be trying to find her way home.
“In the first hour I was quite calm, and then I started to panic when it became clear she really wasn’t coming back, and then it started getting dark. It was really cold,” Frances told us.
“My husband Mark and I ended up staying out looking for her until 1.30am, a whole 13 hours after she disappeared. Eventually we had to go home, but we came back at first light.
“We were joined by friends but also strangers. I’ve been genuinely staggered by the kindness of people.
“Even my boss is out looking. I told him to please take a break as he had been out for hours, and he texted me back saying ‘don’t be daft’. We’ve spent 22 hours looking her Aiza over the weekend; my boss has spent almost as long!
“A kind stranger has even let us borrow a Search and Rescue dog. We really are doing everything we can.
“I’ve been through every cycle of emotion. When you are searching and other people tell you about how they have lost their dogs and found them a few weeks later, you feel quite hopeful. But then you get home and you just feel despair.
“We’ve spent so long searching for her in the cold; our bodies are broken and so are our hearts. Our other dog Max is missing her terribly.

“Is she out there? Has someone take her? Did a fox get her or did she die from the cold? The torture is in the not knowing.”
